Job Vacancy caretaker 15 hours per week -

Caretaker – 15 Hours per week Dalton Parish Council seeks a highly motivated, honest, reliable, trustworthy and enthusiastic individual to take on the role as Caretaker for both Dalton Parish Hall/Sunnyside Community Centre and undertake general handyperson duties including general maintenance. Must be available to work weekends to meet the demand of the users of the centres. 15 hours per week with the ability to cover our existing caretaker’s holidays (approx. 6.8 weeks per annum) and sickness. The applicant must have flexibility to work at various times of the day to meet the business needs, which is dependent on bookings at the community centres and jobs around the parish. Extra hours may be allocated on an ad hoc basis. Duties include: Opening and locking down the buildings, security & H.S.E procedures, maintenance work, cleaning, setting out tables and chairs for groups and events at the community centres, dealing with members of the public regarding booking the venues and dealing with contractors, general maintenance duties and work as allocated by the Clerk. £12.44 per hour with annual increase April each year starting April 2025. Holidays – 20 days per year plus the recognised public and statutory bank holidays (pro rata for part time staff) Access to a vehicle is essential for the role.
